The survival series The Mole is getting another season at Netflix.
The series follows a reimagined version of the high-stakes competition series where a group of 12 participants work together and faces challenges to add money to a pot that only of them can take home. Among the players is the one person who has been secretly labelled as “The Mole”. His or her part in the game would be to sabotage the group’s money-making tasks. In the end, one will outlast their competition and expose the Mole to win the prize pot.
The first season of the reboot series was hosted by Alex Wagner, host of MSNBC’s Alex Wagner Tonight. It is quite uncertain if the same host is to return as host for the upcoming season.
The series is an adaption of Belgian format The Mole which was created by Gaga Vanhove, Michiel Devlieger, Bart De Pauw, and Tom Lenaerts and distributed by Primitive.
Previously, an American version of the same series aired for five season on ABC from 2001-2008 with Anderson Cooper as one of the initial hosts.
The current series, aired by Netflix, premiered last year in October. The 10-part reimagining series is produced by Holey Moley producer Eureka Productions. Paul Franklin, Eden Gaha, David Tibballs, and Chris Culvenor has been acting as executive producers.
