Berlin: Release date, Plot, Cast – Everything you need to know about Money Heist spinoff series
Money Heist spinoff series Berlin is just around the corner. Fans have been eager to know if they will see The Professor on screen again.
Ever since the fifth and last season of Money Heist aka La Casa De Papel streamed on Netflix, the fans have been eager to experience more of the Money Heist content. Although, the franchise is over, the streaming giant is still capitalising on it through it South Korean version. It has also recently announced that they will be bringing in a spinoff series which will be focus on the most beloved character Berlin.
The rumours about his spinoff series has been running around ever since the second part of Money Heist’s final season streamed on Netflix. The creator Alex Pina hinted at expanding the universe of Money Heist by spinoffs for characters which were introduced in the flagship series.
It was also officially announced that the series will air in 2023 and now since the beginning of this year, fans have been eager to get their hands on any update relating to it. So, we have summarised everything we know so far and what to expect from the upcoming series.
What plot to expect from Berlin?
As the title itself suggest, the series will be focusing on the life event of Berlin originally known as Andres de Fonollosa. It is expected that the series will unravel the events that took place before the heist in Spain. Earlier, we have briefly witnessed a glimpse of Berlin’s backstory in season 5. In season 5, we saw one of Berlin’s romance Tatiana and it is expected that the show will explore more of him as it was earlier mentioned in the flagship series that he have had 5 wives.
More importantly, the spinoff will also showcase the relationship between Berlin and his brother, The Professor. Apart from this, it is also expected to unravel how Berlin got in touch with Palermo, Marsella and Bogota. Additionally, given that the whole universe revolves around heist, we also expect to see Berlin making a heist in Champs-Elysees, Paris, wherein her reportedly stole 434 diamonds.
Who all to expect as cast members in Berlin?
It has been confirmed that the actor Pedro Alonso will be reprising his role of Berlin. Apart from him, other actors who are confirmed are Michelle Jenner as Keila, Begona Vargas as Cameron, Julio Pena as Roi, Tristan Ulloa as Damian, Joel Sanchez as Bruce.
We also expect to see some of the old favourite character in the prequel such as Rodrigo de la Serna as Palermo, Alvaro Morte as El Professor, Diana Gomez as Tatiana.
When will Berlin release?
As per the latest updates, the series is set to premier in December, 2023. IMDb has suggested that the filming for the spinoff series has begun in September, 2022. Considering that the series will hit the streaming network in December, we can assume that it is currently in post-production phase.
