It’s only one month before Shadow and Bone returns with its new season. After months of anticipation, the series finally reveals its release date i.ee March 16, 2023. Additionally all the new episodes will be dropped at the same day. The revelation release date has taken the fans’ eagerness to next level as they wonder how the story unfolds further.

What to expect in Shadow and Bone Season 2?

The official description of the series revealed that Alina is determined to bring down the Shadow Fold and save Ravka from ruin. While some suspect her to be a traitor, for others she possess the beam of hope. This time, General Kirigan is supported by an indispensable army of shadow monster and new recruits of Grisha. In order to stand a chance in the fight, Alina and Mal must utilise their new allies and begin a continent-spanning journey to find the two mythical creatures that will amplify her powers.

Hinting more about the upcoming season, Eric Heisserer, showrunner and executive producer, says that they will be taking the stories of the characters further from where they have left in season one. The characters in season two will have face consequences for their action and along the way will meet new people.

Which cast members will return in Shadow and Bone season 2?

It is expected that the main cast of the series will be reprising the roles. The list includes Jessie Mei Li as Alina Starkov, Archie Renaux as Malyen “Mal” Oretsev, Amita Suman as Inej Ghafa, Ben Barnes as General Aleksander Kirigan/The Darkling, Kit Young as Jesper Fahey, Zoe Wanamaker as Baghra, Lewis Tan as Tolya Yul-Bataar, Patrick Gibson as Nikolai Lantsov, Jack Wolfe as Wylan Hendriks, Anna Leong Brophy as Tamar Kir-Bataar, Danielle Galligan as Nina Zenik, Calahan Skogman as Matthias, and Daisy Head as Genya Safin.

On the other hand, the next season consists of eight episodes with an average runtime of 45 to 58 minutes. The series will be exclusively available on Netflix.
