The viewers of Blood & Treasure must recall the finale of second season where Danny and Lexi come face to face with the Kahn for one final battle above Hong Kong. They realize that they have taken Kahn’s bait resulting in putting millions of lives in jeopardize.
The finale of season two gave a Happy Ending to the audience without any major cliffhanger. This sparks a debate over if the series will return with new seasons.
Blood & Treasure Season 3: What’s the status?
It has been officially announced by the network that the third season has been cancelled. This has brought an end to Lexi and Danny’ adventures. The cancellations after show’s two seasons which received mixed reaction from critics and the audiences from all around the world.
Rotten Tomatoes holds an approval of 54% with an average rating of 5.78/10. On the other hand, Metacritic, known for using weighted average, assigned the series a score of 52 out of 100 based on 7 critics. This reviews indicate that the two seasons have received mixed reaction from the viewers and do not hold any significant fan base.
Before the reports of cancellation by TV Line was confirmed, in a statement by Matthew Federman, it was stated that despite of not knowing what the future hold for their series, he is proud for the two seasons they have created as it was shot on four different continents amid the pandemic.
It appears that the show’s creator were already in doubt about renewal of the series post it’s season one. Stephen Scaia, co-creator of the series, was simply overjoyed over bagging another season after a gap of three years. Filming the series in between the pandemic was in itself an achievement.
