Disney+ scraps off John Stamos’ sports comedy-drama Big Shot after its second season. It was reported by TV Line, that the show with no substantial viewership has been cancelled. It was earlier reported that the renewal for second season might have played a role in the ousting of longtime Disney executive Peter Rice. The second season was released in October 2022.
The series follows a basketball coach Marvyn Korn, played by Stamos, is fired from his job at the University of Wisconsin. Post which he relocated to California to coach a girls’ basketball team at Westbrook School, where he connects with his teenage daughter Emma.
The series cast include John Stamos as the coach, Sophia Mitri Schloss as his teenage daughter Emma, Richard Robichaux as George, Tiana Le as Destiny, Cricket Wampler as Samantha, Nell Verlaque as Louise, Tisha Eve Custodio as Carolyn, Yvette Nicole Brown as principal Sherilyn Thomas.
Despite of the second season suffering the budget restrictions, it fared better audience than its predecessor. The series received 78 percent critics rating and 81 percent audience score.
The series was produced by Tommy Burns, Chris Marrs, Jacquie Walters, P. Todd Coe, and Michael Petok. The executive producers include Garrett, Lorey, Biill D’Elia, and Kelley.
