Phoebe Dynevor reveals she will be not be renewing her character of Daphne Bridgerton for season 3 of Netflix’s series Bridgerton. Actress might appear in future seasons.
Its a bummer for Bridgerton fans as Phoebe Dynevor,, who plays the role of Daphne Bridgerton, has revealed that she might remain absent from the third season of the Netflix series. The update comes after her on-screen husband Rege-Jean Page exited from the series in the second installment of the series. Dynevor’s presence was speculated since the production for season 3 began last summer, as she played the role of lead female in season 1 and had pivotal role in season 2. The actress is now said to have fulfilled her end of the contract.
In an interaction with Screenrant at the Sundance Film Festival, Dynevor revealed that she would not be appearing for the third season of Bridgerton but will might be seen in the future seasons.
Even though, the actress has made the revelations, it is not quite sure if she will be completely away from the hit series. As for season 2, she featured in 5 episodes, which is far less than her screen time in season 1. This shift is obvious as the storyline changed in the season. Those of who have read the books must be aware that the third season will have even lesser impact of Dynevor’s character as the it moves away from her chapter. For the unversed, the season 3 will be focusing on the relationship of Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington.
Bridgerton Season 3: Who are the other cast members?
Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton will not only be coming back with their characters Penelope and Colin, but also will be playing the lead roles. The protagonists of the season 2, Simone Ashley and Jonathan Bailey are also confirmed to return in season 3, as they will be exploring their married life and responsibilities as the heads of the eponymous family. Along with Adjoa Andoh, Luke Newton, Jessica Madsen, Harriet Cains, Polly Walker, Emma Naomi, Florence Hunt, Hugh Sachs, Golda Rosheuvel, Claudia Jessie, Bessi Carter, Julie Andrews, Ruth Gemmell and Martins Imhangbe might be returning.
Hannah Dodd will be replacing Ruby Strokes for the role of Francesca Bridgerton due to the scheduling conflicts. Chandran will not be returning for third installment as Edwina. The series has also signed three new male actors for the new season – Daniel Francis of Stay Close as Marcus Anderson, Sam Phillips of The Crown as Lord Debling, and James Phoone of Wreck as Harry Dankworth. Meanwhile, to everyone’s disappointment, Rege-Jean Page will not be reprising his role of the Duke in the season 3.
When will Bridgerton season 3 release?
While the return of the season three of Bridgerton is confirmed, it is yet unknown as to when exactly. The fans of the series will have to wait a little longer as the episode’s post-production is still under works. The filming for the same came to end sometime around the end of 2022. It has been speculated that the Netflix will release the season 3 in mid-2023, considering the last season being released on March 25, 2022.
