Limited series Great Expectations starring Olivian Colman and Fionn Whitehead to premier on BBC and stream on HULU.
It has been officially announced that Great Expectations will hit the streaming network Hulu on March 26, 2023. The release date of the series came in just a little back which its trailer has been revealed yesterday. The limited series is an adaption of Charles Dicken’s 1861 classic novel. The trailer featured Miss Havisham, played by Olivia Colman, meeting Pip, played by Fionn Whitehead, for the very first time and taking a good look and appreciating the potential of the young man standing in front of her. The video was short but it was enough to give us a hint of the dramatic and thriller tone, which is to be expected from the upcoming series.
The first two episodes will be available to stream on Hulu in United States while the rest of the world can watch it on BBC, Disney+’s Star brand, or Star+, depending on the availability in different regions.
Following the double episode premier, the remaining episode will air on weekly basis with each episode on Sunday.
The novel which was released as weekly chapters in December 1860, and later released as a book follows the story of Pip. He starts his journey as an orphan with heart full of dreams and quickly gets himself into the dark world of possibilities after meeting Miss Havisham.
In an interview with Collider, series lead actress Colman is no stranger to period pieces. The viewers might remember her from The Crown or The Favourite and can assure themselves that the stuffy dress, capes and wigs suit the actress. Both the stories has led the actress to bag Primetime Emmy Award for Best Actress and Academy Award for Best Actress, respectively.
