The Witcher season 3 to release around August 2023 in two parts? Here’s what we know
The Witcher season 3 to release by August 2023. The upcoming season might release in two parts..
Another month has passed and we still do not have the confirmed release date of The Witcher season 3. It has been more than a year now since the release of its season 2.
The season 2 of The Witcher ended with Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) saving his foster daughters Ciri (Freya Allan) from the claws of the Deathless Mother with the help of Yennefer (Anya Charlotra). While the witcher was busy saving his daughter, the rulers, elves, mages and assassins become aware of the fact that Ciri lives. They began hatching their own plan to either kill the princess or use her for their own benefits.
But what happens next? Will Geralt and Yennefer be able to keep Ciri safe and what of the burgeoning powers of Ciri? The answers to the cliffhangers left in season 2 lies ahead with the next season. While the wait has been long, the news of Henry Cavill leaving the show has left the fans disappointed. It was announced after a bleak response to The Witcher: Blood Origin that the lead actor will not be returning for its upcoming season. Who will fill the shoes of Cavill?
It is evidently clear by now that the season 3 will not be hitting the streaming giant anytime soon. However, we can be relieved over the fact that the it will release in summer of 2023, as it was confirmed by Netflix last year. During an interview in December last year, Lauren S. Hissrich, showrunner, revealed that there were still “eight-ish” months left till the show’s premier. So we can expect it’s return by August or September of 2023.
She also hinted that the season might release in two parts. She revealed that it has not yet been discussed but seeing what’s “happening across all sort of streamers, I wouldn’t rule it out,” she said to Collider.
