Yellowjackets Season 2: Release date, plot, cast and everything we know about the upcoming season
Yellowjackets has been renewed for its second season. The executive producer of the show reveals what to expect from the second season.
Yellowjackets came with a certain hype but nobody saw the series turning out to be this successful. The viewers have binge watched the first season and could like short of slicing throats and eating people, they would do anything to get their hands on any update regarding the new season.
Thankfully, the network Showtime has renewed the series for its second installment. And as it turns out, it isn’t only Lottie who could look into the future as we too, have somethings from the upcoming season.
When will Yellowjackets Season 2 air?
Last year, the fans of Yellowjackets got an early Christmas present as it was announced that the series will be returning with its season two. Showtime announced that “you won’t be hungry much longer” as the new season will be releasing on March 24, 2023, in US.
The second season will debut on Paramount+ for the viewers in UK around the same date.
As if that wasn’t enough, season three of Yellowjackets has also been in the works.
Which cast members will return for Yellowjackets Season 2?
Ranging from senior actors such as Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci, and Tawny Cypress, to teenage actors, the star cast for the series has been commendable.
For the upcoming season, it seems that the teens who died could potentially return as spirits. Or at the very least, they could reprise their role in flashbacks. That’s kind of thing on the show, because of which you cannot really strike off any actors, even if their characters died.
What storyline to expect from Yellowjackets Season 2?
While there is no official synopsis revealed, the executive producer Jonathan Lisco, has said that there’s one major running theme in the new season, which is unadulterated anger. In a conversation with Empire, he stated, “Now we’re really exploring female rage.”
He added that in the present, each of the women is being forced to reckon with who they really are, which they’ve been able to deny most of their adult lives.
Is Taissa evil? Will Jackie return? Who kidnapped Natalie? And what did Lottie do exactly at the end? It seems that season one finale has left many questions unanswered which means that second season has to hit the ground running upon its return.
