The Traitors to return with season 2 featuring new participants and cut-throat challenges

Peacock renews its reality game show The Traitors for its second season after the successful first one.

Following a successful premier of season 1 last month, Peacock has already renewed the series The Traitor for second season. The series is hosted by Scottish actor Alan Cumming and is based on Dutch series De Verraders. The reality TV show is labelled as No. 1 original reality show.

The game show revolves around the plot of 20 contestant playing against one another to win the cash prize. The participants are mixed bag of well known names and everyday Americans going through a series of challenges. However, it is a murder mystery so the contestants are required to identify the three people among themselves who are called “the traitors.” The three people plan to steal the prize from the other contestants as they are being called “faithful.” The series see all the contestants doing their regular task to earn higher rewards. Nobody known which contestant is eliminated till they go missing from the breakfast table the next morning.

With each new season, new names for the cast are to be expected. For the first season, we saw Amanda Clark, Andie Thurmond, Anjelica Conti, Brandi Glanville, Cirie Fields, Arie Luyendyk Jr., Christian De La Torre, Azra Valani, Cody Calafiore, Quentin Jiles, Kate Chastain, Kyle Cook, Michael Davidson, Rachel Reily, Robert “Bam” Nieves, Reza Farahan, Shelbe Rodriguez, Ryan Lochte, and Stephanie LaGrossa Kendrick.

Corie Henson, NBCUniversal’s EVP of entertainment unscripted content stated that The Traitors is an ambitious, spontaneous and highly addictive format which keeps the participants and the viewers on their toes. She also added that the host Alan is “well-dressed genius” who turns out to be a perfect pair with the producers at Studio Lambert who are brilliant storytellers.
