Netflix orders new anime series based on Japanese Manga Pluto: Check out the voice cast

Netflix to bring anime series based on Japanese Manga Pluto.

Netflix has ordered an anime on the adaption of the acclaimed manga Pluto. The series is backed by Genco  with animation by M2Studio and is set to release later this year.

The Japanese voice cast includes Shinshu Fuji as Gesicht, Minori Suzuki as Uran, and Yoko Hikasa as Atom.

Pluto has been described as a masterpiece and it is based on Tezuka’s Astro Boy “The Greatest Robot on Earth” arc from 1964 and created by Naoki Urasawa, known for 20th Century Boys, Yawara!, and Master Keaton, and his longtime co-creater Takashi Nagasaki. Tezuka Productions has been supervised by Macoto Tezuka.

The plot of the suspense drama has been set in neo-futuristic world where humans and high-functioning robots live in complete harmony. The globally acclaimed manga has bagged several awards which includes Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. The 2015 stage adaption returned in 2018 following huge demand in Japan and Europe.

Author Naoki Urasawa in a statement applauded the courage taken by everyone in order to create an anime based on Pluto. She further shares her excitement on the creation of these new series which, according to her, will win over people’s heart. “I hope that now more than ever, Osamu Tezuka’s message reaches the world,” said the author.

Speaking about the series, Urasawa said that it does not merely convey the message of anti-war, but reminds is that even though there is suffering on both sides, the remaining answer is always peace.
