For all the fans of The Last Kingdom who thought that it is over with Uthred of Bebbanburg, we are here to say that you are all wrong. Although the end of season 5, when he finally reclaimed his ancestral home in Bebannburg, felt like a perfect end to the story of the hero we loved, there is still more to the story.

Author Bernard Cornwell wrote 13 books in his Saxon Stories and The Last Kingdom adopted 10 of those books. Now, there’s a movie coming our way, Seven Kings Must Die, which will provide an proper closure to Uthred’s story.

What to expect from The Last Kingdom movie Seven Kings Must Die on Netflix?

Obviously one movie cannot be enough to adapt three whole books while the television series could only adapt two books per season. The official synopsis as per Netflix reads, “Alexander Dreymon reprises his lead role oas the great warrior Uthred of Bebbanburg, who must ride once more across a fractured kingdom with several of the series’ much-loved returning characters, as they battle alongside, and against, new allies and enemies.” It further read that following the death of King Edward, rival heirs compete for the throne and Uthred is approached by alliances. This brings two choices in front of him which is those he cares for most and the dream of united England and he has to choose the fair side.
