Wednesday: Season 2 to release on platform other than Netflix?

Wednesday was renewed for its second season but the streaming platform question remains at large.

A spinoff of the The Addams Family is always welcomed. Over the time, there have been various movies and series revolving the centre of the eldest child of Addams’ family, Wednesday. A new mystery series titled Wednesday has turned up on Netflix which delivers an indulgent helping of weird and wonderful – along with some choice monochrome fashions and of course unforgettable dance moves. The series led by Jessica Ortega, shows the protagonist in her quest to unravel who has been going around the town killing the residents of Jericho.

In the finale of season one, the creators have left some mysteries unattended as for the fans to deal with the cliffhanger. The fans have been anticipating if there will another season of Wednesday.

When will Wednesday Season 2 release?

The series has been renewed for the season two on January 6, 2022. The announcement was no surprise after witnessing what an overwhelming response it received for its first season as it has managed to break records of Stranger Things. However, there has no been update regarding the exact release date.

Speaking of where the show will be available to stream, there were a great deal of speculations that the season two might not return on Netflix and the creator may opt for Amazon Prime Video’s merger with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), the production company that makes Wednesday for Netflix. But we know for a fact that the series is not going anywhere.

Wednesday Season 2: Which all cast members will return?

It is pretty evident that Jenna will be reprising her role for season two because, considering her performance, it will be too difficult for any other actor to step into her shoes. Also, that she will be accompanied with her right-hand Thing.

Wednesday’s almost love interest Xavier Thorpe, played by Percy Hynes White, is also expected to reprise his role. It is expected that their romance might see the light of day as Tyler is now out of picture. Or is he though? Because the last time we saw, he was detained but something tells us that the guttural growl at the end of final episode could lead to a breakout.

Other actors who are expected to reprise their roles are Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, George Farmer as Ajax Pertroplus, Naomi J Ogawa as Yoko Tanaka, Jamie McShane as Sheriff Donovan Galpin, Luis Guzman and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Wednesday’s parents – Gomaz Addams and Morticia Addams respectively, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester.

What plot to expect for Wednesday Season 2?

In a recent interview with Variety, Emma Myers, who played the role of Wednesday’s best friend Enid Sinclair, revealed that “anything is possible in the show.” She added that since they have not yet spoken about the direction of the upcoming she does not have much idea about what’s to happen.

She also responded to speculations that Jenna could have a female love interest in the upcoming season. “As far as long interests go for Wednesday, I feel like at least for a second season, she needs to take her season of singleness,” she stated.

Explaining her stance, Emma said that given all that fiasco she had to go through in season one, I would have deterred from anybody, if same had happened with me.
