The first season received an overwhelming response from the fans, and if I’m being honest, it deserved all the love as HBO has produced yet another masterpiece. Since the first season ended on an exciting cliffhanger which left the potential for civil war, we all have been waiting for season two.

According to the reports by Production List, the production start date for HOTD season 2 will be March 6, 2023. The shooting will initially take place in London and Spain. However, the reports have not been confirmed but we are expecting an official statement soon. The series has in pre-production stage for months now.

It seems that even HBO doesn’t know when will season 2 of HOTD will hit the screens, as the series is still in its pre-production phase. Putting our calculations at use, it is expected that the season will release during the early months of 2024.

HBO chief content officer Casey Bloys gave slightly more clarity as he revealed to Vulture that the series will be ready “sometime in ’24.” But he apparently wants to manage the viewers expectations as he added that it is just a plan which is still in its early stage. He added that it is difficult to give a release date yet, as to it can upset the fans when the creators don’t deliver on the said date. However, he has assured, “don’t expect it in 2023.”
