Night Court renewed for season 2: Check out the storyline and release date of the upcoming season of sitcom

After receiving an overwhelming response for season one, NBC confirms second season of Night Court. Its been less than an month since the series premiered and it has also broken some records of earlier sitcoms.

Night Court, a rebooted sequel of the sitcom with the same name from the 80s and 90s has been renewed for its second season. The NBC’s announcement comes after only 3 weeks and four episodes since its debut on January 17, 2023.

Ever since the premier of the series, it has witness a strong viewership of more than 25 million across all viewing platforms. The series has managed to take the #1 spot for a comedy premier of 2022-23 season on broadcast and also in terms of total viewers during the 2022-23 season. Thanking the audience for such an overwhelming response, Lisa Katz, president, scripted content of NBCUniversal Television and Streaming stated, “It’s so rewarding to have audiences respond and return to a show in which they have such incredibly warm feelings, and, more broadly it’s testament to how broadcast is still a huge driver of communal viewing.”

The story and team behind Night Court

Night Court is a reboot of the series of the same name and now it stars Melissa Rauch, of The Big Bang Theory, as Abby Stone. On the show, she is playing the daughter of the original series’ lead Judge Harry Stone, who has followed the footsteps of her father to become a judge herself. Abby finds her working during the titular night sessions of Manhattan criminal court wherein she deals with weird cases and weirder people. Apart from her John Larroqutte also stars in the NBC series. Rauch also serves as an executive producer alongside Winstone Rauch and Dan Rubin, with former also serving as a writer on the series.

When will Night Court season 2 release?

The first season is not near to its wrap-up and the second season is already announced. While there is no official confirmation or revelation on when the second season will hit but given that the episodes of the first season are released over a weekly basis, the same shall be repeated with upcoming seasons. It can be predicted that NBC’s sitcom will be back by early months of 2024.
