Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard suggest release date for fifth and last season of sci-fi mystery drama. The season 5 could be more than a year away.

It is not a secret or an unknown fact that Stranger Things enjoy a massive fanbase. Since the release the of its fourth season, the viewers have been eagerly waiting for the premier of its season 5 which will be its final installment. Amid the anticipation, Finn Wolfhard has a an idea on its release window. The actor plays the role of Mike Wheeler on the show, who is the de facto leader of the group of young Hawkins protagonist protecting their town and the whole world from the threats of Upside Down with the help of his superpowered girlfriend Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown.

In a recent appearance on GQ’s “Actually Me” series, where the celebs react to the fans on social media as themselves, Wolfhard opened up on the release date of Stranger Things season 5.

Responding to one of the fans asking about the behind-the-scene stories, the actor reflected on the friendships he made with his co-stars. Without sharing any major spoiler or update on the series finale, Wolfhard stated that the Stranger Things season 5 will release in 2025. He added that this will allow him to celebrate the series with his friends in a different way. “I will be 22 by the time [Stranger Things season 5] comes out… I started working on the show at 12,” he stated. He added that at the premier of Stranger Things season 5, he will be able to drink with his friends/co-stars – Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas Sinclair, Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers. “[I] couldn’t have said the same thing at the season 1 premier, which blows my mind,” added Wolfhard.

What do we know about Stranger Things Season 5?

Although much details are kept under wraps about the storyline of the upcoming season, the creators have left some hints regarding the final season. Matt and Russo Duffer, showrunner and creators, have confirmed that much of the final season will be shot in Hawkins. It has also been teased by the duo that the season will explore more of the Upside Down down as to learn about the origin story of Vecna and the nature of parellel dimensions itself.

The season fifth will also feature a time jump to properly address the gap between the release of its two seasons – four and five. They have also been taking note of the fans’ feedback from season 4 on how they craft the show’s ending.

Apart from the names mentioned above, Stranger Things season five will comeback with return of its principal cast including Wolfhard, Brown, Matarazzo, McLaughlin, Schnapp, Wiona Ryder, Natalie Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono, Joe Keery, and Maya Hawke. It is expected that the final season will witness a final confrontation between Eleven and Vecna, it is unclear whether Jamie Campbell Bower will reprise his role of One.
